This Fringe season, Red Lips Productions and Joie de Survivre are remounting The Iceberg, a one-act play originally produced in 2014 for Winnipeg's Fringe Festival. This is an honour, and an opportunity to experiment with technology for Fringe! The Iceberg is a magic realism play, so melding its themes with technology is proving to be an interesting task.
Originally, it looked like Fringe would be cancelled this year. For theatre artists, though, it is amazing that ambitious artists are organising online festivals so the show can go on!
www.fringelivestream.com is one of those companies, and we are beyond happy to be performing with their festival, in addition to Montreal's "This is NOT a Fringe" Festival. @fringelivestream is also coordinating with several online companies so we can perform our show far and wide!
We are very excited to be producing artwork safely in these trying times.
Our all star cast and crew!

Joanne Roberts is a Canadian actress best known for her role as Julia in the award-winning musical short film The Perfect Life (2019), which screened at TIFF Bell Lightbox as part of their festival The 48, A 6-Year Retrospective. She was recently seen in a cover feature of The Uniter (Vol 74, Issue 23), speaking candidly of her experiences working in the industry and identifying as an Artist of Colour.
Karam Daoud is a Moroccan-Canadian actor who moved from Morocco to Canada over 7 years ago. She has played numerous roles, from army generals to psychopathic therapists. More recently, she played the lead role in a Canadian sci-fi film coming soon to Canadian festivals. Fluent in English, French and Arabic, she loves to sing in all those languages and more. She spends her free time painting and drawing, reading and writing, or playing the violin or the piano. Karam loves meeting other passionate and amazing artists as much as she loves being on stage. She also happens to be a big fan of (almost) all Final Fanatasy games, and cannot wait to fulfill her destiny of playing Sephiroth in a screen and stage adaption of the franchise.
Katie Buckberger makes her professional theatre début in The Iceberg. A Canadian artist with professional credits in film, she's a recent graduate of Grant Park's performing arts program where she had many prominent roles during her tenure. During this time she frequently topped her classes at the Winnipeg Music Festival as a vocalist, even securing a scholarship to continue her studies. She's excited to join the University of Winnipeg Arts Program in the fall and continue with her professional work.
